Triple Treat Bites

    I had so much fun today making a quick version of the following recipe at Independence Golf Club! Even if the food was flying, we were tasting and laughing. I want to thank Will, LeAnne and everyone at IGC for helping me "put myself out there"! I promise to keep getting better at FB Live! 



I adapted this recipe from one of my favorite healthy treat cookbooks, Natural Sweets and Healthy Treats". *Recipe adapted from “Natural Sweets and Healthy Treats” by Rita and Kimberly Bingham called "Triple Treat Sugarplums"


Healthy Triple Treat Bites



  • ¼ cup dates

  • ¼ cup raisins

  • ¼ cup dried plums (prunes)

  • ¾ cup walnuts

  • ¼ cup Chocolate Complete (by Juice Plus+)

  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

  • 2 Tbsp apple or orange juice


1. Place ingredients in food processor for about 2 minutes or until mixture is smooth and sticks together.

2. Scoop about 1 Tbsp of mixture out into your hands and roll into a ball, makes about 16   


Special Notes

  • Have fun with variations like adding different flavor extracts, nut butters or cocoa nibs.

  • Change the dried fruit and nuts as long as the ratio is equal amounts of nuts to fruit.

  • Roll the balls in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, festive sprinkles or finely chopped nuts
